Nirgendwo bietet die Natur eine eindrucksvollere Kulisse als in der Aletsch Arena. Die Region ist Teil des UNESCO-Welterbes Schweizer Alpen Jungfrau-Aletsch und gilt damit als einzigartige und besonders schützenswerte Naturlandschaft.

Der Grosse Aletschgletscher ist der flächenmässig grösste und mit 22,6 km der längste Gletscher der Alpen. Er befindet sich auf der Südabdachung der Berner Alpen im Schweizer Kanton Wallis.

Der Aletschgletscher galt schon früh als besondere Sehenswürdigkeit für Reisende und als willkommenes Untersuchungsobjekt für Forschende.

Holiday paradise in the UNESCO World Heritage

Nowhere does nature offer a more impressive backdrop than in the Aletsch Arena. The region is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch and is therefore a unique natural landscape that is particularly worthy of protection.

The Great Aletsch Glacier is the largest in terms of area and, at 22.6 km, the longest glacier in the Alps. It is located on the southern roof of the Bernese Alps in the Swiss canton of Valais.

The Aletsch Glacier was considered a special sight for travelers and a welcome object of investigation for researchers from early on.
